Turkey: Istanbul & Cappadocia
Eight days across two of Turkey’s defining landscapes — imperial Istanbul and the valleys of Cappadocia.
Two days through the Walled City, the Mughal monuments and the food streets, on foot where it matters.
Lahore is best seen slowly and on foot. This short break covers the Walled City along the restored Shahi Guzargah, the Fort and Badshahi Mosque, Shalimar Gardens, and the Lahore Museum — with two evenings given over to food.
Good for a weekend, and a genuinely useful add-on for anyone flying in or out of Lahore before a northern tour.
Begin at Delhi Gate and walk the Shahi Guzargah past the Wazir Khan Mosque and Shahi Hammam, ending at Lahore Fort and the Badshahi Mosque for sunset. Evening food walk in Gawalmandi.
A boutique hotel inside or near the Walled City where available, otherwise a well-located four-star in Gulberg. The Walled City options are small and book up quickly.
Private vehicle between sites. Much of the Walled City is walked, because vehicles cannot reach the best of it.
Breakfast at the hotel and tastings on the food walk. Other meals are your own choice — we will point you at the right places.
The Walled City involves two to three hours of walking on uneven surfaces. Comfortable shoes are essential.
Please dress modestly for mosque visits; headscarves are required for women at the Badshahi Mosque and are available at the entrance.
Summer afternoons regularly exceed 40°C. Between May and September we shift the walking to early morning and evening.
